People think judicial corporal punishment is cruel ... and they often do not comprehend how harmful prison is ...  If they knew how bad incarceration was, they might regard judicial corporal punishment as the better option for everyone.

- mandated in the Holy Bible

- offenders find it memorable
- reduces prison overcrowding
- does not interefere as much with marriages, families, jobs, careers, children, communities, civic groups or education
- facilitates rehabilitation better than prison or jail
- could cut the American prison population in half
